Find Us at a Conference in 2013

We’re looking forward to exhibiting at conferences this year. In the past, our message has been, “The site is coming.” This year, although we continue to add features and make improvements, we can say, “The site is here. Join our community, connect with our providers, use our research tools, and let us make your research easier.”

We enjoy having a chance to talk (enthusiastically) to people about how the site might work for them, and we enjoy hearing from people who stop by to say “We’ve used Genlighten and we like it.” We also enjoy the memories that we make.

We’ve been traveling to conferences for a few years and each trip has been an adventure. One time we camped in a large park that offered right-to-your-site pizza delivery. (We didn’t indulge but we thought it was neat.) Another time a genealogy friend who shares my interest in folk music stopped by our booth with her mandolin in hand so we could play a few tunes. (I always have my fiddle with me.)

And then there was the time heading home from NGS in Charleston, South Carolina when we realized that our first train was delayed by brush fires and wouldn’t get us to Washington, D. C. in time to catch Amtrak’s Cardinal back to Chicago. We rented a car, drove most of the night to catch up, and barely made the train in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The upcoming conference year is sure to bring new and wonderful stories to tell. Here’s where you can find us in 2013. If you attend any of these gatherings, please stop by our booth and say hello. — Cynthia
