Interment information can be obtained and a photograph of a headstone (if one exists) for an individual.
I will search the following cemeteries in Joliet: Elmhurst, Holy Cross (Crest Hill, Ill.), Mt. Olivet, Ss. Cyril and Methodius, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary Nativity (Crest Hill, Ill.), and St. Patrick.
While interment records are extensive for these cemeteries not all graves are marked. Visits are weather and season permitting. All of these cemeteries (excluding Elmhurst) have their records located at a separate location. The central office must be written to receive the interment record. Also, the earliest interment records or maps have been lost for Ss. Cyril and Methodius & St. Patrick Cemetery. This was due to fire or flooding at the individual parish. Turn around time for a request will be approximately two weeks.
