Description
Delaware required civil registration of births beginning in 1913. Records are available from 1913. The last year available is 72 years from the current year, therefore the latest birth record available is currently 1938. A microfilm index must be searched (by year and by county), then the record can be located on microfilm. A copy can be made for your records. Records are held at the Delaware Public Archives. I research there on a weekly basis. If a record is not found, the report will contain all years and counties searched. A recommendation will also be made for further research that may lead to a birth record being found (such as a surrounding county location).
