Naturalization, Cook County, (Circuit, Criminal, Superior, and County Courts Only)

Illinois,_county_naturalization_records_dgs_4661902_489_naturalization

Description

I will visit the Circuit Court Archives to obtain a copy of a naturalization record from the Circuit Court, Criminal Court, Superior Court, or County Court when you provide me with information from the Illinois, Northern District Naturalization Index, 1840-1950, online for free at FamilySearch.

Please note: Records before 1906 provide little or no genealogical information. This page summarizes the information you’d expect to see broken down by year.

Some of the early records are loose documents and I’m able to scan them in color. Later records are in large, unwieldy, tightly-bound books. The clerks do their very best to get good readable copies and I do my best to make sure you get all of the important information, but the pages almost always have shadowing.

Turnaround time will vary depending on when I receive your request but I usually make a weekly trip downtown. If you have questions about this offering, just message me.
