Description

At the Family History Library in Salt Lake City I will search for your individuals Naturalization records (1906 and onward) in the records of the Court and location listed on the index card found on Family Search’s naturalization index records. I anticipate that the record will include both the Declaration and the Petition.

This offer is not for Cook Co., IL (with the exception of the U.S.Federal District Court Records in Cook County, IL, which I will provide.); Milwauke Co., WI; Baltimore, MD; McLean Co, IL; Idaho; or Butler Co., OH. Those areas are covered by other look-up offers on Genlighten.

Before I accept your request for a look-up, I will need to check and see if the records are available at the FHL. I have found that some records are not available. If the records are not available, I will let you know and there will be no charge.

Usually I am available to go to the Family History Library on Monday-Wednesday, sometimes on Friday. You can expect a turnaround time of one week or less, unless there are unexpected problems.

Scanning microfilm documents is not as simple as scanning papers. There are a number of adjustments that may need to be made like straightening the page, zooming in or out, adjusting the focus, or brightness, or contrast.

Sometimes the page is bright in the center and dark in the corners. If scanned like it is, the corners are too dark to read when the center is right. If this is the case, I will provide two scanned images, one dark enough that the center can be read and the other light enough that the corners can be read.

Your scan will include the whole page. This way you will have all column headings and page numbers that appear on the page. You should be able to zoom in as needed to increase the size of the letters, using your photo editing software.

Because of copyright law, this offer is only for copies of unpublished records like – court records, and so on. This offer is not for copies of pages in published books at the FHL.

“Found” means the record was found.

“Not found” means the record was not found.
