Description
I can look up a name in the New York State Vital Record index (OUTSIDE of New York City for a range of 5 (five) years per look up. This includes births between 1881-1934 (privacy laws prevent access to more recent records), and marriages/deaths between 1881-1959.
The index simply lists names, dates and locations for the record, NOT the original birth/marriage/death certificate. This will help you to determine if indeed an ancestor was born in a certain place, and if so, when. I will provide a list of names, dates and locations matching your search, not to exceed twenty names, should the search be fruitful.
If you’d like the full original document, you must request it directly from the locality from whence it was issued, or the NYS Dept of Health. I can assist with that process for an additional fee, if desired. I can NOT look up vital records in New York City.
