The San Joaquin County Recorder’s office currently charges $14 for death certificates. If found, the certificate sent to you will be an “Informational Copy” which is identical to a certified death certificate but with the words “Informational Copy” stamped across the front of the document. If you have the exact date of death, my fee for obtaining the document is $20 which includes the cost of parking and postage to mail the certificate to you. Without an exact date of death, my fee is $50 which includes the cost of parking and postage to mail the certificate to you.
If request is placed before 11:00am Pacific Time Monday – Thursday, document will be obtained on the same day. I will scan the certificate and email to you before placing it in the mail for delivery to you.
Death certificates in the State of California dated 1905- present will give the date and place of birth and death as well as the names of the decease’s spouse and parents, name of the funeral home or mortuary and place of burial.
