Wondering how to limit the e-mail notifications you receive from us? Is your lookup feed cluttered with updates you don't need? Want to be alerted when a new lookup is offered in a specific locality? We answer some of the most popular questions about these topics below.
You can use the Settings page to control which events on Genlighten will trigger e-mail notifications from us. When you first register for the site, all notifications are active by default. But if you visit the site regularly enough, the Lookup Feed or the various status pages should give you all the updates you need. In that case, you can turn off the e-mail alerts you don't want using your Settings page.
To access the Settings page click on the Account link from the menu in the upper right-hand corner of the page you're on. Then click on the settings tab. Under Email alerts, find the e-mail notifications you don't want and uncheck the boxes next to them. If you later find you miss receiving these notifications, you can easily turn them back on. Just revisit the page and check the appropriate boxes again.

We're always grateful to hear from clients and providers who care enough about Genlighten to share requests for new features with us. While we can't promise to act on every suggestion we receive, we'll happily consider your request. Please e-mail suggestions to support (at) genlighten (dot) com. We'll try to provide you with a prompt response whether or not we decide to implement your idea.
Though it may seem like it'd take the same computing effort to send out personalized e-mail notifications on ten localities as on 100, in fact there's a surprising amount of background server processes that are involved in the notification process. We pay a fee to our hosting service each time we access our database, and extra notifications add up fast. So though the limit is arbitrary, keeping it at ten helps keep our costs manageable. If enough clients and/or providers tell us they need this limit increased, we'll definitely consider doing it.
Just click on your username anywhere you see it displayed on the site. For example, once you've logged in, your username appears in the upper right-hand corner of each page. Click on your username and your profile will be displayed just as other registered users of the site would see it.
