About Me:

I am a retired Home Economics teacher. I have a BSHE and MSHE. I have a very active life with family (2 sons and one grand child) and church activities. I have been doing Genealogy for a little over 20 years most of it basicall right here in the Eastern part of NC. Mostly north eastern. My ancesters just semmed to get here and stay until WWII before they moved out in look of jobs.

Genealogical Training, Certifications, or Society/Association Memberships:

Attended 12 National meetings both NGS and FGS. Finished National Institue for Genealogical Research course in DC; Attended Samford Institute for Genealogical Research for the following courses: Researching the South, Advanced Research, Virginia (2 sessions).Have Attended many seminars sponsored by this state society for 18 years. I was program CHairman for NCGS for 2 years. I speak locally and teach classes in genealogy. Have been doing work for Clients for three years. I have served in many capacities in local societies I was Editor of the Tyrrell County Genealogical Society Journal for 5 years, President of the Beaufort County Scoiety for 3 years. Have served on the board of directors for the North Carolina Genealogical Society since 2001 and am currently serving as President of the state society.
