Hi, Is there an alternative source for deaths in Maryland besides the images posted on the Maryland State Archives website? I am looking for a death certificate for someone whose details (name, date, where) are known, but he is not listed in the Archives' index. I'll gladly submit a Genlighten record request if there is another way to find the death certificate. Thanks.

Does the Baltimore birth index give the mother's maiden name?

The answer is yes and no. Sometimes the entries have it listed and other times it does not. What time frame are you looking for?
