About Me:

I have done research at the Salt Lake City Family History Library weeks at a time since the early 1980's. I moved to Utah in 1999 and live 20 minutes from the library. I have done research for my family history, plus for many friends. I belong to DAR and have done research to prove lineage for many DAR applications and have researched and published family histories for clients. When I am not in a library, courthouse or cemetery doing research, I am on the computer.

Thank you for this service. Do you need the exact date of birth? I am interested in a birth certificate 1870-1872 in NYC. Do do Brooklyn also?

The Birth Index cards are listed this way: Birth Index Cards A-Bar 1870, Bas-J 1870 etc I should be able to find it by the child's full name and approx birth year. I'll need the parents names to be sure they match the child you are looking for. The cert gives parent's birthplace and residence at the time of birth as well as the mother's maiden name.

Can I get a copy of a Birth certificate of Albert Miarka (Miarke)? His Birth Date is September 3, 1930. Let me know if you locate it and what the fee is for getting this birth certificate and what are my options for payment. Thank you, Mark Miarka

I need to know the State and county where Albert was born and father's name, mother's maiden name. I need this information to be sure that I get the right certificate. If I find the certificate the charge would be $10 and if I look for it but do not find it, the charge is $4.00, The money is taken care of by Genlighten. Look on their Home page for that information. If you send me the information above, I will look in the Salt Lake Family History Library catalog and see if they cover those dates. Then you can put an order in Genlighten and I will check to see if they have a certificate for Albert. Just because the Family History Library has records for the dates you want does not guarntee that Albert's record will be there. I'll be glad to try with the information above.

I forgot to ask if you had a sample picture of a Birth Certificate for me to view and see the clarity of information. My eye sight is not quite good. Thank you, Mark Miarka

I'm sorry that we can't send a sample picture because of the way Genlighten is set up. I did look in the Family History Library Catalog and they only have Cook county Illinois birth records to 1922. I did look at another Cook County website and they had no record for Albert F. Miarka or Miarke. Regarding Alabama Death Records, are you able to actually obtain a copy of the Death Certificate?

Jessica, I am out of the state right now and won't be back in Salt Lake until Friday Mar 12. I'll be able to go to the Family History Library on Saturday. I don't have my Genlighten info with me, but as far as I know any of my lookups have the certificates. Send me the information on the lookup page. and I will go to the library on Sat Mar 13th and see what I can find. I need places, dates and names. If you want to put in a lookup order I would be glad to look it up. Barbara
