FAQ for this lookup

Dear Anne-Marie Eischen -- Searching the marriage registers first would make the most sense. Here in Cincinnati more marriage records have been indexed than baptismal records. They then most likely had their children in the city in which they were married. Bob Brodbeck
Doug -- No, the RC Archdiocese of Cincinnati has not released copies, on film or otherwise, of their sacramental records to the public in any manner. However, most 19th Century Catholic marriages and church funeral service records in Hamilton County, including Cincinnati, have been indexed into volumes available at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County [PLCHC]. These index listings of marriages and deaths provide the basic information including date and specific church. Then one can write to the Archdiocese and request copies for a fee. Unfortunately the Archdiocese has not permitted their baptismal records to be indexed, but often a request can be made to the Archdiocese, especially if year and parish is known. The first step is to have someone here lookup the index listings for marriages and church funeral/burial services. Then submit a written request to the Archdiocese. I can do the index lookups for you of course. Cheers == Bob Brodbeck
