Specializes In: I offer look ups for obituaries (Chicago and Joliet Newspapers), Joliet City Directories, and cemeteries in the Joliet Catholic Archdiocese.

About Me:

I began researching my family in 2002 while just a junior in high school. Please don't let the fact that I am only 26 years old fool you. I am very committed and passionate about genealogy. It started off as a hobby for my grandmother and myself. I now jokingly refer to it as my part-time job. I have since taken the knowledge of records I have gained to help others. I enjoy helping others locate and retrieve documents that they may not be able to obtain themselves. Before joining genlighten I maintained (and still do) my own website. Through that website I located many of the same records I now offer on here. In recent months I have been used by professional genealogist in Salt Lake City to retrieve records in Will and Cook Counties.

FAQ for this lookup

I would suggest the "Chicago Tribune". If they where of African American descent I might suggest the "Chicago Defender".
It is possible that an obituary for a resident of Elmhurst to have appeared in the Chicago Tribune. Best Regards, Steven J. Wright
Cook County Coroner's Inquest is a look up I offer. As long as it falls between a certain time frame. And does not appear in one of the missing volumes. What is the date of the inquest you would be interested in locating?
Yes, that volume is available. If you would like me to do a search please submit a request. I will contact the archives and see what the intern staffing the library is this semester.
