In addition to date of death, death registrations may contain the decedent's birth date and place, occupation, medical cause of death, informant (often the next of kin), burial information, length of residence in British Columbia, place or address of residence, or names of parents. Amount of detail provided varies depending on the time period. Earlier registrations tend to contain less detail than more recent ones. I will go to a nearby repository library that holds microfilms of original death registration records filed in the British Columbia Archives in Victoria, BC. I will make a copy for you of the record you request, or let you know if I encounter a problem with the record. The quality of copy is dependent upon factors like the physical state of the document before microfilming, legibility of handwriting on the image, and other things beyond my control. Under normal circumstances, turnaround time for your request will be 3 days.
Fee if I find the record you requested: $5.00
Fee if I don’t find the record after a thorough search: $3.00
