English Death Certificate, 1837-2005 from my-ain-folk

Full copy of a death certificate for a death that is listed in the General Register Office (GRO) Index to Deaths in England & Wales. Where the full GRO index reference is not known a search will be made in the index at no extra charge but as details provided in the index are minimal this could result in an incorrect certificate being ordered. Unfortunately, it is not possible to get a refund from the GRO should this happen.

Fee if I find the record you requested: $35.00

Fee if I don’t find the record after a thorough search: $35.00

FAQ for this lookup

A transcription of the GRO indexes are available for free at http://freebmd.org.uk/ - for deaths the indexes are fairly complete up to the 1930s but there are few records later than that. The full GRO indexes are also available on several subscription websites including www.ancestry.com - from the US you may need a Worldwide Subscription to access them, I'm not certain. There are also some indexes available to the copies held by Local Register Offices - these give different reference numbers. These include http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/ for Cheshire and http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ for Lancashire. The coverage of these indexes is incomplete but the websites give details of what is included. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance. Regards, Kirsty F.
