1783 Maryland Tax Assessment, 1783 from michaelhait

A statewide tax was assessed in 1783. Records are still available for the following counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Harford, Kent, Montgomery, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, and Talbot. The assessment record contain the name of the assessed person, the name and acreage of any lands owned, and the value of land, animals, and other personal property. I can search the available records (in the counties listed above) and obtain copies of any relevant records for one person.
