I am an avid genealogist and have been doing Chicago genealogy for many years. I enjoy doing all types of research especially divorce cases, probate cases, criminal cases and warranty deed searches but willing to tackle any type of research needed. One of my favorite things is to discover something completely new and unexpected! I recently discovered an original photo in a probate file for a client of one of his ancestors. What a surprise that was! Genealogy is my passion and I love to help others discover the unknown.

I hope you got through the recent storm OK. Thank you very much for getting the chain of ownership documents. I don't have any family members involved in the later years; however, is there a page for the years before 1872? Is there some place I can find out what the "Instrument" abbreviations stand for? Some, such as D and Q.C. are fairly obvious, but others like W.D., J.D. or R2104/410 are not. Also, what kind of information is contained in the documents cited for each of the entries? I am curious how Christian sold his property in 1888 (Doc. 932175), the year before he died, and bought it back in 1890, the year after he died (Doc, 1223832) and would be interested in getting those documents, if you think any of them might shed some light on this problem. Also, I would be interested in finding why Christian bought the property from the Lombards on Oct 11, 1873, if he also bought it from them on Nov 19, 1868 as stated in his Probate File. (I know you previously said they could not find this document but it does raise a question.) I don't need any of the Quitclaim documents. Thanks again for a good job, Bill Ladwig |
