About Me

Genealogy has been an interest of mine for nearly 20 years and assisting professionally for 10. My own research began in Cook County, Illinois, where I was born and have family ties back to the 1850's. My paternal side of the family are Hungarian and Polish, whereas my maternal side of the family are colonial lines from Mississippi and Germans who settled in Wisconsin. The first European research I conducted was in Szentmihály and Tiszadob in Szabolcs megye, Hungary. Shortly afterward I sought out the records for my German ancestors in Gutach im Schwarzwald and Hornberg in Baden, and Selchow in Pommern. I take great pleasure in helping others find their roots, which was the reason why I created the website 'Hungary Exchange' in 2010.

Research Specialties

My areas of specialty are Hungarian, German and Chicago area research.
