Wife, educator, and genealogist! I was born & raised in Northern Michigan. I have a bachelor's degree in American History and English Literature, a General MBA, and a master's degree in Medieval History. I moved to Illinois after I left grad school and worked in banking and shipping. My husband and I currently live in Round Lake, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago very close to the Wisconsin border. I currently work as a part time educator for a private learning institution in Lake Zurich. I have been working with genealogical records in multiple states and countries for over 15 years, personally, at first, then, more recently, professionally. I am currently becoming ICAPGen Certified.
I learned my exceptional research skills at undergraduate and graduate school. I have three specific genealogical strengths: locating difficult to find female ancestors, locating and interpreting historical documents and using land records to locate former properties.
