Refunds for negative results are not offered. As much as I would like to promise that we will have a positive result in your search, I simple can not. Genealogical research works with many factors that we can't control. Documents may have been lost or not created at all. What I can guarantee is that I will give your project my full attention and commit all my skills and energy towards helping your reach your project goals. We may even find some surprises along the way that make it an adventure!
Contact with Client:
Regular contact will be maintained with the client. At the minimum, weekly status updates will be provided. Many times I will be in contact throughout the week asking clarifying questions or sharing exciting tidbits. You are always welcome to contact me at any time.
Upon the completion of research and analysis, you will be provided with a detailed report covering all aspects of the project including both positive and negative results; copies, transcriptions, or abstracts of documents as appropriate; and recommendations for future research should you wish to continue learning more. Research reports will be provided within one business week of the completion of your project. I do not bill for the creation of the research plan. You are paying for me to locate the information. I don't feel you should have to pay me again to report it to you.
When possible, digital copies of documents will be provided in preference to physical paper copies. If you require physical copies, a per-page copy fee will be billed as an expense. The client can choose to have digital copies transmitted through a file share system such as DropBox, or I can provide a cdrom containing all digital copies within the client's file.
All images will be provided on a cdrom in both a raw and edited format.

In the case of negative results, a log will be provided showing the searches completed to help you avoid duplicating my work in your later research. A discount is not provided for negative results. You are paying for my time and expertise, not positive results. However, I will do everything I can to locate your family's information.
