About Me

I have spent many hours over the last several years conducting research in the Washington DC Metro area and in various historical societies and repositories in the Midwest. I have also worked on a number of client cases and performed research for various clients whether it be obtaining a court record, breaking through a brick wall in the research or combing through the details of a civil war pension record. I visit the Library of Congress and the National Archives regularly.

I have strong analytical skills which allow me to find the detailed(and sometimes hidden) pieces of data that help solve genealogical mysteries. Besides obtaining documents I am also happy to help others break through the brick walls in their family research.

DAR Library Research by the Hour

    $35.00/record

    Description

I am happy to help you with your research by going and making copies of an entry or article from a specific book in the library. I can also conduct research in a particular section, for example I can search the books in the Chenango county, New York section for marriage records.

Please note that the DAR Library catalog can be accessed online so you can see exactly what books and resources are available at this location. Most books have an index, but there are some that do not. The library also has "mug" books (county histories) from many locations which contain information that is often submitted by the family. This information can provide possible hints for further research.

For each book I will photocopy the requested name/names or article and also photocopy the cover page so that all information is available for citation information. If no information was found in the requested reference I will also provide a list the resources searched.

    Ordering Instructions

Please use the DAR Library online catalog and let me know what book/books you would like me to look in for your specific research. If you would like me to search in a specific section, please let me know the county and state, the time period, and if I am looking for births, marriages, deaths or general family info. If it is a county mug book, please let me know the family and the county and state.
