Description
Erie County, NY County Courthouse is a good source of family data via the wills and probate files available between 1828 and today. If found a file may give names, relationships, and place of residence for all known living relatives at time of death. Also,a personal glimpse into the family is often revealed from the wishes of the deceased as expressed in their last will and testament.
Tow trips to County Courthouse are required, first to search for a file using the many indexes, and the subsequent ordering of file from offsite storage. A second trip is required to review the file and to copy the file contents using a photocopy machine (no digital available).
Cost includes the fixed fee PLUS the cost of copies and postage.
